( 7- 2017)  Belton TX city officials continue encouraging citizens to entertain in bacteria water - Nolan Creek has elevated bacteria levels in the creek

The City of Belton TX city council, mayor and city manager chose to use a Voter Suppression tactic to influence the outcome of the Nolan Creek project by preventing people from exercising their right to vote. Belton citizens had no voice on the Nolan Creek project.

Many citizens opposed the project because of repeated contamination - money could be better used in other areas of Belton - and sewage spilling into creek.

City streets, business culverts, residential and agricultural run-off from Ft. Hood, Killeen, Harker Heights, and Nolanville drain into the creek then runs downstream into Belton. This has been known for decades.

Media reports of contamination and sewage are now showing that the Nolan Creek Project is a flop!

Yet, in desperate attempts to save face and avoid humiliation, Belton officials and Mayor Marion Grayson increase efforts to hype-up the creek project using exaggerated or intensive publicity:

1)  Mayor Marion Grayson claimed that people will come from out of state to entertain in Nolan Creek but cannot prove masses of people coming from out of state to swim or entertain in the contaminated Nolan Creek.

2)  Mayor Marion Grayson entered the creek into a contest that was not available to all Belton citizens to vote on.  That is classic Marion to not reach out to all citizens and allow them to participate. This is not the first time shes done that.

3)  Belton’s Public Spokesman Paul Romer (aka. Belton's Parrot), stated “tons of people” came to entertain in the creek.  There are 2,000 pounds in a ton. Since he claimed "tons" of people, he purposely exaggerates that more than 2,000 people came out to swim and entertain in Nolan Creek. But the parrot will not show photos or video footage more than 2000 people in the creek. He also will not show or report monetary figures generated from the more than 2,000 people on that day.  Paul Romer has no choice than to lie to keep receiving benefits off the taxpayers and a paycheck. Where's the integrity?

These are just a few examples that show the lengths officials will go through in order to justify wasting over a million dollars in a creek that has continually contained sewage and E coli bacteria.
